BUILDING A NEW HOME
This is a detailed account of our experience building a dream house. Hopefully, it will chronicle our daily or at least weekly experiences with the project. We are not building it ourselves, but instead hired a builder to handle that part of the stress. This is our labor of love and we give thanks to God for blessing us with the opportunity to do it.

I absolutely love and adore God as my first mission in life. My second greatest loves are my children and husband. I also have a very deep and sincere commitment to the aid, love and support of hurting, impoverised, and/or underprivelaged children here and abroad. I spend much of my resources trying to be a blessing to many of those children in the world. If you are interested in helping please let me know. I am very interested in business issues as I own 2 companies. I am highly ambitious and driven. I love new homes, and interior design. I'm an admitted shopaholic. Cabinets In Now
Yeah...I'm happy to say the cabinets have come in now. We are really very pleased with the way they have turned out. Unfortunately because of lighting I am not getting real good pictures at this point. But the cabinets are good. Also the trim on the outside of the house is completed. I really couldn't pull off good pictures today. The sun was actually shining right on top of the house. Beautiful, but not good for pictures. It was also wet from all the rain. The bricks look a lot darker on these pictures as a result than they actually are. The trim and inside doors are up inside the house, as well as garage doors. Next if the inspectors would move it, the basement will be drywalled. But it does have insulation, electric, and frame at this point. Work has also begun on the staircase at last. Driveway, sidewalks, etc. have been in as well. Now, I just want to bring on light fixtures, paint, drywall in the basement, finished staircase, granite for the counters, backsplash in the kitchen and I'll be pretty happy with that. Of course other stuff is still needed, but with paint, countertops, staircase, and granite, I'll really feel almost done.

A Lot of Progress Now & For May
As stressful as this process has been lately, a lot is getting accomplished. The hard wood floors are now completely in (still have to be sanded again and coated). Just about all the siding is up on the sides and back of the house. The finished basement has now been framed and all the electrical wiring and lighting have been completed. Dry wall should begin next week for that. Wow now that I see it framed the rooms seem to look so much bigger. The tile work in 3 out of 4 bathrooms is finished. It's almost done in the msbthrm. as well. I love the tile but we had a panic moment in the msbth. I thought that we might have made the wrong choice until I saw the tile go up in the shower. It looks good. Next week I believe the trim guys start and I hear that cabinetry and all that fun stuff comes around then as well. Before the month is out we should have light fixtures in, granite (hopefully), painted walls (hopefully), and appliances.
