BUILDING A NEW HOME

This is a detailed account of our experience building a dream house. Hopefully, it will chronicle our daily or at least weekly experiences with the project. We are not building it ourselves, but instead hired a builder to handle that part of the stress. This is our labor of love and we give thanks to God for blessing us with the opportunity to do it.

I absolutely love and adore God as my first mission in life. My second greatest loves are my children and husband. I also have a very deep and sincere commitment to the aid, love and support of hurting, impoverised, and/or underprivelaged children here and abroad. I spend much of my resources trying to be a blessing to many of those children in the world. If you are interested in helping please let me know. I am very interested in business issues as I own 2 companies. I am highly ambitious and driven. I love new homes, and interior design. I'm an admitted shopaholic. I've been singing since I was a small child and have an infinite love for music.

Out of Hospital-Nice Progress

Well today I came home from the hospital after a fluke illness starting with strep throat of all things that knocked me down pretty badly. Of course the strep throat led into something much more serious. But thanks to God's oh so mighty blessings I'm good now. When I got out I just had to go see the progress at our site. We have committed to pictures once a week. On Friday, I was out of it and obviously couldn't go. But today, on Sunday I couldn't wait. Wow, we were so shocked. It's amazing how much they accomplish in less than 2 weeks. We returned to find what looked like a giant fort erected. It's so cool. It's like you could see the footprint of the entire house. I think this is the wooden part of the foundation (but new at this). I believe the next step is to pour concrete around it and let it sit for about 2 weeks to cure, and then on to the frame. That's the super fun stuff. I will try to import some pictures. Wow we went from flat dirt, to a canyon sized hole, to a big foundation structure in less than 2 weeks.

OUT LOOKING FOR FURNITURE

Today my husband and I went out looking for furniture. He found a bed that it absolutely huge but so beautiful. Nevertheless, costly. I think we will have to first focus on other pieces of furniture that are absolute must have's and have not yet been bought. We've got everything for the living room new - whew - at least that's down. But still we need a sectional and ottoman for the basement, couches and chairs for the family room, and new bedroom sets for 2 out of 3 children. Wow a lot of work and a lot of expense. Exactly why we are trying to start early.

Our Hole Looks Like a Canyon Now

Wow, this is so exciting. Today we went back to take a look at our new baby being born, :-) . Wow. That little hole that they started digging a couple of days ago, looks like a giant canyon now. That was quick. There was a full team of guys there working away this time. On the first day there was just one guy and the digging machine. This is so super cool. I think they are laying the footings.

FINALLY WE HAVE BEGUN BUILDING

At very long last the building process has finally begun. It has been an extremely long labor of love, but today we dug the hole for our beautiful new home.
