BUILDING A NEW HOME

This is a detailed account of our experience building a dream house. Hopefully, it will chronicle our daily or at least weekly experiences with the project. We are not building it ourselves, but instead hired a builder to handle that part of the stress. This is our labor of love and we give thanks to God for blessing us with the opportunity to do it.

I absolutely love and adore God as my first mission in life. My second greatest loves are my children and husband. I also have a very deep and sincere commitment to the aid, love and support of hurting, impoverised, and/or underprivelaged children here and abroad. I spend much of my resources trying to be a blessing to many of those children in the world. If you are interested in helping please let me know. I am very interested in business issues as I own 2 companies. I am highly ambitious and driven. I love new homes, and interior design. I'm an admitted shopaholic. I've been singing since I was a small child and have an infinite love for music.

The Doors Are In

Ok...well our latest and newest news...the front doors are in. The door leading to the laundry room from the garage and the kitchen french door (out to the backyard) is also in. Though I was very happy to see an actual door in the kitchen (several days before the front doors), I can't say that I was as happy to see the front doors. I suppose the doors are nice, but just not what I was expecting them to be and thus I was honestly a bit disappointed. There are 2 large front doors on the front opening of the house. Each door was supposed to be about 75% glass, with wood edges (actually fiberglass edges on the doors stained in a dark mahogony stain that looks just like wood, :-) )around the glass and the bottom 20-25% of the door also being the dark mahogony stain. Grant it when we got to the house yesterday, the doors were not yet stained and were just sort of a pale bland color at the moment - which I'm sure makes a difference. But, bottom line - the glass was only about 1/2 way down the doors. I simply don't believe that's what we picked. The sales person at our builders office thinks it is, but we will double check this Friday. The only way I would have picked those doors is if there was simply no other choice in the book. Anyway still blessed! Thanking God for that!
